A solid therapist trained at one of Oregon's top massage schools, Dana uses a unique blend of modalities including Deep Tissue, Trigger Point, and Swedish massage, coupled with yoga, to effect the best possible results with her clients. The focus of Dana's practice is to facilitate the body's natural healing abilities in clients suffering from chronic pain, injuries, illness, and stress.
Dana discovered her drive to be a massage therapist while teaching yoga at Portland State University. "I saw restrictions in my student's bodies and wanted to massage them to release the tension and increase their range of motion, but that's beyond the scope of practice of a yoga instructor." When Dana began practicing massage, her knowledge of yoga naturally became an integral aspect of her work. "I can give my clients certain yoga asanas, tailored to their specific needs, that they can practice at home to augment the bodywork. This allows them to be proactive in their own healing." Dana's clients find this aspect of her practice one of many reasons why her bodywork is so effective. One of her clients has this to say:
"Between her accurate posture assessment, wonderful touch, deep and technical yet relaxing bodywork, and the yoga she gives me to do at home, I've experienced better and longer-lasting results over a period of a couple of months than I did over a year with my last massage therapist."
Dana graduated from East West College of the Healing Arts and is a Licensed Massage Therapist by the Oregon Board of Massage. She is also a Certified Yoga Teacher.
